Employability Programme

We are commissioned by Westminster City Council (until April 2020) to deliver our Employability Programme, the aim of which is to enable the young people to identify, assess and engage 30 young people with disabilities per year, and deliver a suite of training short break sessions to develop their skills, understanding and practical experience in person-centred career planning, employment application, and workplace participation (to include communication skills, travel training, work disciplines and personal responsibility).

For many of the young people that take part in this programme, the main outcome will be they are prepared for work, but we are aware that for others this may not be the case. Even so, the skills and knowledge they develop will improve their communication skills and guard against isolation.

The activities will be delivered to three sets of young people across the year and tailored to meet the needs of members with mild to profound needs.
