Our youth worker, Floyd, recently took some of our young people on a three-night trip to Bristol. We sat down to have a chat with him to find out how it went:
Q: What was the highlight of the trip for you?
“When we were travelling there on the mini bus, a song started to play, and everyone started singing as loud as possible. I turned it up, encouraging them to sing. They were having such a good time, singing at the top of their voices”.
Q: What’s your favourite thing about going on a residential?
“The encouragement which comes from everyone. They’re so supportive of each other. If they see that one person is down, everyone is there to help. The energy they display when they’re out in new communities is wonderful”.
Moments like this may seem small, but they play an important role in helping our young people feel connected and supported.
The young people took part in some really exciting activities including:
– a graffiti workshop (swipe to see the amazing artwork we produced!)
– a day at the beach
– a walk along the Humber bridge and a park trail
– a cool exhibition about an alternative planet
– a train museum
Shout out to Floyd and the rest of our amazing youth work team for helping make these possible!
