This year, Caxton launched Changemakers for Social Action; a new programme supported by Young Westminster Foundation and The National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All.
Changemakers is the natural extension of our Youth Government, providing young people the space to lead on external change in the world.
Caxton members are our Changemakers, taking on a yearlong project rooted in their own lived experience – meeting weekly to explore the challenges they see around them and starting to build a campaign to drive real change.
So far they have taken part in a zine-making workshop and visited the Resistance exhibition at Margate’s Turner Contemporary, where they explored how protest and resistance have shaped life in the UK.
Most importantly, they’ve been getting into some powerful, honest conversations – about the problems in their communities, the systems they’re navigating, and what real change could look like.
They’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to see where they take it.
